Topics

  • Natural Pharmacy”

Scope: Photographs that reflect the uniqueness of  Herbomineral pharmacy and related products/ food etc of Ayurveda and Indigenous Medicine

  • “Making of a “Healer”

Scope: Photographs that reflect the different aspects of Ayurveda/ Indigenous Medical education and training, inculcating professional and humane qualities in budding physicians, etc

 

  • “Historical Highlights”

Scope: Photographs that reflect the uniqueness of integrated archaeology of medicine and healthcare.

 
Who Can Submit

Should be an undergraduate (internal) of Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine

 Entries must be submitted by the 1st of December 2022.  8th of December

 

Evaluation Criteria

 Specifications

  • The contest will be held under two categories: Mobile Phone and DSLR.
  • Files should be submit  in .jpg format via e-mail and should hand over the hard copy to SRCFIM committee
  • Size: 1024X 768 pixel (landscape/portrait)
  • Colour/Black and White photographs are accepted (no filters should be used)
  • A short caption of the image should be provided in English.

 Instructions

  • Individual submissions only.
  • Individuals can submit entries to one or both categories. However, only one entry is allowed per category. If an individual is submitting to both categories, separate application forms must be submitted
  • All files should be named following the given format. <Name of the student><Caption>
  • Should not include logos/watermarks.
  • The image should not include any personal information about the contestant
  • Digital alteration of photographs is prohibited. Evidence of such alterations will result in disqualification.
  • Photographs of children under 16 are strongly discouraged.
  • When adults are involved, consent should be sought to photograph and publish from the individual. Consent should be sought from the individuals being photographed and that should be the sole responsibility of the contestant. The duly signed consent form (Annexure xx) should be submitted along with the entry, where necessary.
  • Featuring academic/ non-academic/administrative/visiting staff of the university or hospital staff is prohibited.
  • Offensive or inappropriate content (provocative images/violence/human rights violations/environmental violations and/ or other content deemed to be contrary to the medical practice/law/religious/cultural and moral traditions and practices of Sri Lanka is strictly prohibited.
  • Entries should not violate copyrights, trademarks, or any other intellectual property of any third party or entity.
  • Photographs of clinical procedures are prohibited. Photographs depicting clinical practice should not reveal patients’ (s) identities if patients are featured.
  • The qualifying entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges and the Judges’ decision will be the final.
  • Any complaints regarding originality can be filed to the coordinator of the “moments” or the event chair before the final decision is announced. There should be adequate evidence to support the claim.
  • All entries should be submitted through Email photo.urcfim2022@gwu.ac.lk. Entries submitted through other means will not be considered.
