Workshop on “Initiation to Institutional Review: Principles and Practices” Successfully Conducted at GWUIM

A successful workshop on “Initiation to Institutional Review: Principles and Practices” was held on 23^rd October 2025 at the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, Sri Lanka. The workshop was organized by Dr. D.A.N.D. Daranagama, Director, Centre for Quality Assurance.

The aim of the workshop was to enhance the understanding of institutional review practices and strengthen the University’s internal quality assurance system in alignment with national quality standards. The session was conducted by Prof. Priyangani Senanayake from the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya. As the former Director of the Centre for Quality Assurance, University of Kelaniya, Prof. Senanayake shared her expertise and valuable experience in quality assurance to support the success of the event.

Vice Chancellor (Acting) Senior Prof. Wasantha Subasinghe, Deans of the Faculties, Directors of Centres, Administrative staff, and Lecturers participated in the workshop. Their active engagement and valuable contributions greatly enriched the discussions and enhanced the overall success of the event.
