Non-Academic Establishment Division 

Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine
The Non-Academic Establishments Unit is responsible for executing all establishment matters of non-academic staff of the University in accordance with the existing rules and regulations. Establishment matters include all activities pertaining to recruitment, confirmation, annual increments, promotion, training, welfare, discipline, extension of services, leave and cessation of services of the aforesaid categories of staff.

Location of the Division
The division is in the second floor of the Administration Building. It is located on the left hand side of the Administration Building near to the Academic Establishments Division.

Main functions of the Division
  • Determining and managing the cadre of the non-academic staff posts in the University, and updating and maintaining cadre statistics of such staff
  • Handling all matters pertaining to recruitment, confirmation, annual increments, promotion, extension and cessation of services of non-academic staff
  • Maintaining personal files of all non-academic staff
  • Handling matters relating to leave and attendance, transfers (internal and external), and training of non-academic staff
  • Attending to staff welfare matters such as loans, long service awards, uniforms, and issuing Identity Cards and service certificates etc.
  • Handling matters relating to salary revisions/rectification of salaries of non-academic staff
  • Handling/ coordinating all disciplinary matters of non-academic staff
  • Attending to matters relating to retirement benefits of non-academic staff, i.e., Gratuity, UPF, EPF, ETF, Pensions Fund etc. on cessation of their employment
  • Handling matters relating to appointment of non-academic staff on contractual and assignment basis
  • Handling matters relating to appointment of Sub-wardens
  • Coordinating matters relating to non-academic staff trade union issues
  • Coordinating and conducting examinations/ trade tests etc., for recruitment and promotion of non-academic staff, where applicable
  • Handling all administrative functions of Bonds and Agreements including Bond violation of university staff
  • Attending to litigation matters with regard to non-academic staff recruitment and termination of services etc.
