Strengthening the bilateral ties, the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine hosted a delegation from the Chuvash State Pedagogical University (ChSPU) on the 13th of March 2023, at the GWUIM premises. During this event, the Memorandum of Understanding which was signed between Chuvash State Pedagogical University and the GWUIM during an online meeting in January 2023 was also formally exchanged.
Representing Chuvash State Pedagogical University, Prof. Vladimir Nikolaevich Ivanov – Acting Rector, Dr Igor VIadimirovich Kozhanov – Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Work, Dr Akexander Aleksevich Kirillov – Head, Department of Scientific and Innovative Work graced the event.
Speaking at this event, Prof. Vladimir Nikolaevich Ivanov – Acting Rector of ChSPU expressed his sincere thanks to Her Excellency Senior Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage for providing immense support in facilitating a platform for both universities to sign in a Memorandum of Understanding. Further, in parallel to this event, the “Ivan Yakovlev Russian Cultural Centre” donated by the Chuvash State Pedagogical University to the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine was also ceremoniously opened by Prof. Vladimir Nikolaevich Ivanov – Acting Rector of ChSPU. In addition, representing the Gampaha Wickramarachchi International Centre (GWIC), the Director of GWIC - Lt.Col. Dr. Asanka Pallewata addressed the gathering.
Present at the occasion were the deans of the faculties, the registrar of the university, Mr B. A. N. Krishantha, Bursar - Mr C.G. Kotalawala, Senior Assistant Registrar (Academic Establishment) - Mr Shammika Wijewardena and the coordinators of the GWIC.
