One Day Workshop on “Preparing Teaching Materials, Lecture Notes, and Handouts”

A successful one-day workshop on “Preparing Teaching Materials, Lecture Notes, and Handouts” was held on 01^st August 2025 at the ICT Centre, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine.

This workshop was organized by Ven. Dr. Maduruoye Dhammissara Thero, Coordinator of the Teaching and Learning Criterion of the Faculty Internal Quality Assurance Cell (FIQAC) and Dr.M.N.S.Marasinghe coordinator of FIQAC of FIM. The primary objective was to strengthen academic quality and enhance effective teaching practices among academic staff.

The workshop featured two eminent resource persons, whose contributions enriched the sessions significantly: Prof. R. B. Marasinghe, Director - Center for Quality Assurance, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Prof. Gominda Ponnamperuma, Director - Center for Quality Assurance, University of Colombo.

Their expertise and interactive presentations provided participants with valuable insights into the development of effective teaching materials, in line with modern pedagogical principles and quality assurance standards. Topics such as lesson planning, structuring lecture notes, preparing student-centered handouts, and aligning materials with learning outcomes were covered.

The workshop saw the active participation of academic staff members across the faculties, and the feedback received from attendees reflected a high level of engagement and satisfaction with the learning outcomes.
