Mission
To initiate and promote international collaborations, amelioration of cross-cultural understanding and empowerment of the global citizenship of students and academia while respecting the values of indigenous knowledge.
To promote international research and academic collaborations with universities and various institutions across the globe
To facilitate the international training programs and workshops in the fields of communication skills in foreign languages.
To exchange the well-preserved indigenous knowledge in a global context whilst enhancing the values of indigenization
To foster the understanding of globalization through value-based education, which nurtures a persona who respects diverse cultural values across the numerous communities
Key Roles of GWIC
Facilitation of MoUs regarding the various collaborations with foreign universities, research centers, international organizations and commercial entities
Promotion of grant opportunities and student exchange programmes
Provide the staff and students the necessary support to apply for scholarships / studentships and outgoing mobility grants
Coordination of the logistic support for incoming foreign delegates, according to their time allocated for the GWUIM during their stay in Sri Lanka
Facilitation of basic logistic needs for incoming foreign students
Establish strong and sustainable connections with various international organizations, identifying their potentials in contributing to the future developments in GWUIM
Dissemination of news from the GWUIM to international partners
Facilitation of language training programmes and internal inter-cultural workshops, in view of enhancing the overseas employability of the prospective students.
