The Department of Indigenous Social Sciences of the Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management Studies endeavours to contribute to society by recognising needs, values and contentions of the community and environment at local, regional, national and international levels.
The Department offers the Bachelor of Science Honours in Social Studies in Indigenous Knowledge, which is a four-year honours degree programme along the Humanities and Social Science subject pillars: Sociology, Geography, Anthropology, Indigenous Knowledge, Social Research, along with Soft Skills and Management. BSc Hons in Social Studies in Indigenous Knowledge is a unique degree in the field of Social Sciences designed as per the guidelines stipulated within the Sri Lanka Qualification Framework and placed at level six as a Bachelor of Science Honours degree.Head,
