University Research and Publication Committee
The University Research and Publication Committee is established as a Senate Sub-Committee in terms of Section 46(6)(vii) of the Universities Act as amended.
Objective
The objective of the Research and Publication Committee is to provide support for the development and implementation of university research, evaluate research proposals submitted by the staff of the University and to arrange funds/ grants for carrying out research and publications of research outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Committee
- Evaluate new research proposals, on-going research projects and requests for extensions
- Appoint evaluators
- Arrange grants/ funds for research and make recommendations to the Senate/ Finance Committee
- Grant approval for research publications
- Arrange funding for research publications
- Appoint editorial boards for university publications
- Organize Annual Research Symposia
- Encourage and provide necessary support for submission of perfected applications
