Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, GWUIM Student Secures Bronze Medal at National Gender Award 2025
Ms. Mukulaanjalee Gunarathne, an undergraduate currently in Year 3 Semester 2 (2022/2023), representing the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine has been awarded Third Place (Bronze Medal) in the prestigious Gender Award 2025 competition. This event was organized by the Centre for Gender Equity/Equality (CGEE) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) in celebration of International Women’s Day. Under the theme “Innovative Solutions to Gender-Specific Problems”, the competition invited undergraduate students from state universities across Sri Lanka to identify and propose gender-sensitive solutions for the challenges faced by female students within their own institutions.
The award was presented by Professor Kapila N. Senewirathna, Chairman of the UGC, in a moment that was both proud and memorable for Ms. Gunarathne and the university community. We extend our warmest congratulations to Ms. Mukulaanjalee Gunarathne on this remarkable achievement.
