Stakeholders Meeting of Department of Indigenous Medical Resources – A Successful Collaboration for the Future of Indigenous Knowledge Systems which blend with the modern sciences
The Department of Indigenous Medical Resources, Faculty of Indigenous Health Sciences and Technology, Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, proudly hosted its Stakeholders Meeting on 25th July 2025 at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Colombo 07.
The event was a success, with the active participation of key stakeholders from both the industrial and government sectors, representing the fields of agriculture and medicinal resource management and pharmaceutical sciences and technology.
Together, we engaged in meaningful dialogue on:
- Enhancing and aligning the curricula with industry needs
- Identifying career opportunities for future graduates
- Building strong partnerships for internships and collaborative research
This meeting marked a significant step toward strengthening the connection between academia and industry, ensuring that our degree programs - BSc (Hons) in Indigenous Medicinal Resources and BHSc (Hons) in Indigenous Pharmaceutical Technology - remain innovative, relevant, and impactful.
