The Talent Show - BAMS Orientation Programme 2023/2024
The Talent Show of the BAMS Orientation Programme 2023/2024 was successfully held on June 2, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Student Centre of Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine (GWUIM). The event served as a joyful and memorable milestone for the new entrants of the 26th BAMS Batch of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine.
Organized by the new batch of students under the guidance of Mrs. W.C.M.Fernando, Head/Department of Languages, FIM, GWUIM, Dr. M.N.S. Marasingha (Coordinator), with Dr. R.R.P.S. Nilmini and Dr. Umesha Withanachchi contributing as Co-coordinators, the event showcased the remarkable talents of the students through a collection of exciting performances.
The event was graced by several esteemed dignitaries, including:
- Professor Mrs. K.P.P. Peiris, Dean, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, GWUIM
- Mr. B.A.N. Krishantha, Registrar, GWUIM
- Mr. C.G. Kothalawala, Bursar, GWUIM
- Heads of Departments, Academic, Academic Supportive, and Non-Academic Staff of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Thisura Rajapaksha, representing the new batch, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, GWUIM. This was followed by a speech delivered by Professor K.P.P. Peiris, Dean, FIM, GWUIM who expressed her heartfelt encouragement and appreciation for the diverse talents of the new batch.
The stage came alive with fascinating solo and group songs, dynamic dance performances, an engaging drama, and a surprise event that captivated the audience. Each performance was a testament to the creativity, enthusiasm, and spirit of the new entrants.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Miss. Sahala Abeyrathna, a student from the new batch, extending gratitude to all attendees, organizers, and supporters who contributed to the success of the show.
