The visit of GASARAC and Undergraduates from Netherlands
A lively and engaging meeting was held on 2nd April 2026 between the Department of Cikitsa, GWUIM and Gampaha Sports Academy and Recreation Centre (GASARC).
The Head and academic staff of the Department of Cikitsa, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, the Managing Director and Head coach of GASARC (Director, Sri Lanka Korfball Association), and undergraduates from the Netherlands participated in this discussion. The discussion highlighted the introduction of Korfball, exciting opportunities for collaboration, and ways to enhance student involvement in sports and wellness activities. Further, the visiting students showed great interest in Ayurveda, Yoga, meditation, and community initiatives. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with plans to begin collaborative activities, including a Yoga and meditation workshop for the visiting group.
