The Inauguration Ceremony of the Diploma in Ayurveda Cosmetology

The inauguration ceremony of the Diploma in Ayurveda Cosmetology, held on February 21, 2024, at the mini auditorium of Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine (GWUIM), marked a significant milestone in the advancement of Ayurvedic practices in cosmetology. Initiating the event, Dr. (Mrs.) H.A.R.P Perera, the Course Coordinator, warmly welcomed attendees, setting the tone for an event filled with enthusiasm and anticipation.

Distinguished guests who attended the event included Professor Ranjana Wickrama Seneviratne, the Vice-Chancellor of GWUIM, who emphasized the university's commitment to holistic wellness and beauty practices.

Joining the event, Dr. (Mrs.) W.J. Wickramarachchi, the Dean of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine addressed the occasion, sharing her insights and vision for the future of Ayurvedic cosmetology at GWUIM. Dr. Shalika Pathirathna, Dean of the Faculty of Indigenous Health Sciences and Technology, along with Professor A.A.J. Pushpakumara, Head of the Department of Shalya Shalakya, and Professor (Mrs.) K.P.P. Peiris, also attended, lending their expertise to the occasion. Additionally, Dr. Harsha Dharmawijaya, a renowned Ayurveda physician, further enriched the event. Moreover, Mr. C.G. Kothalawala, the Bursar of GWUIM, also graced the occasion.

As a guest speaker, Dr. (Mrs.) Princy Veronika Rathnayake, a renowned Ayurvedic practitioner who graduated from the University of Kelaniya, delivered a compelling address, highlighting the significance of Ayurveda in the field of cosmetology and its potential to revolutionize beauty practices.
