Pañcakarma is an integral part of Kāyacikitsā (Medicine). The scope of Pañcakarma is not only of the treatment aspect, but also of prevention of diseases and promotion of health. Pañcakarma treatment is practiced extensively in Ayurveda Hospitals worldwide. Therefore, competent specialists in the field of Pañcakarma are essential requirement to generate new knowledge and skills through well planned research and to formulate effective management plans and strategies for the achievement of global health challenges
Applicants who seek admission to the programme should have following qualifications.
BAMS/BUMS/BSMS degree awarded by a recognized University/ Higher Educational Institution/ Institute
or
A Diploma of five year academic course work in Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (DSAC/DSAMS/DIMS/DAMS) qualification awarded by recognized University/ Higher Educational Institutions/ Institute and at least 05 years of work experience after being registered in the Ayurveda Medical Council
or
Any other equivalent qualifications accepted by the Senate of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine.
