Master of Science in Pañcakarma

Pañcakarma is an integral part of Kāyacikitsā (Medicine). The scope of Pañcakarma is not only of the treatment aspect, but also of prevention of diseases and promotion of health.  Pañcakarma treatment is practiced extensively in Ayurveda Hospitals worldwide. Therefore, competent specialists in the field of Pañcakarma are essential requirement to generate new knowledge and skills through well planned research and to formulate effective management plans and strategies for the achievement of global health challenges.


The Faculty of Graduate Studies of Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine offers the Master of Science in Pañcakarma (MSc in Pañcakarma), practical oriented  clinical program consisting of 60 credits of course units running through two academic years and the Postgraduate Diploma in Pañcakarma (PgDip in Pañcakarma), practical oriented  clinical program consisting of 30 credits of course units running through one academic year, to fulfill this global requirement, with the aim of producing competent medical practitioners who are capable to contribute for global health development by acting effectively and efficiently in any context throughout the globe.

Entry Qualifications

Applicants who seek admission to the programme should have following qualifications.

BAMS/BUMS/BSMS degree awarded by a recognized University/ Higher Educational Institute with a First class or Second Class pass

or

BAMS/BUMS/BSMS degree with a General pass and at least one year Postgraduate Degree or Diploma in Ayurveda / Kayacikitsa

or

DSAC/DSAMS/DIMS/DAMS qualification awarded by a recognized University/ Higher Educational Institution/ Institute with First Class or Second Class pass and at least 05 years of work experience after being registered in the Ayurveda Medical Council

or

DSAC/DSAMS/DIMS/DAMS qualification awarded by recognized University/ Higher Educational Institution/ Institute with a general pass and at least 05 years of work experience after being registered in the Ayurveda Medical Council, Sri Lanka and minimum one year Postgraduate Degree or Diploma in Ayurveda, Paṇcakarma or Kayacikitsa

or

Any other equivalent qualifications accepted by the Senate of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine.
