ENGL 11011: English Language Skills 1 is a course unit offered by the English Language Teaching Centre in the first semester of Level 1 for the Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management Studies. The lessons and activities in this module are developed to improve the four main competencies of language: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. In addition, lessons to improve grammar and vocabulary are also presented in this module.

The aim of this course is to enable the learner develop the main competencies of the English language, while focusing on grammar and vocabulary as well.

ENGL 11021: English Language Skills 1 (Practical) is a course unit offered by the English Language Teaching Centre in the first semester of Level 1 for the Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management Studies. The main competencies addressed in this module include the productive competencies: Speaking and Writing. In addition, various listening and reading activities are also included in this module to produce a graduate who is capable to enter their respective careers.

The aim of this course is to enable the student to build confidence to converse in English language, both in formal and informal contexts.

ENGL 21031: English Language Skills 2 is a compulsory course unit offered by the English Language Teaching Centre in the first semester of Level 2 for the Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management Studies. This course unit is an extension of the course unit done in Level 1 and advanced content is embedded to further enhance the language competencies of the students. Especially, English for Academic Purposes will be developed in this course unit, improving the reading and writing skills of the students.

ENGL 21041: English Language Skills 2 (Practical) is offered in parallel to the ENGL 2031 by the English Language Teaching Centre in the first semester of Level 2 for the Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management Studies. During this course various practical activities are introduced to the students to develop their communicative competency. In addition, other receptive and productive skills are addressed during this course, enabling the students to improve their English language comptencies.
