Considering the growing necessity of ICT in today's world, the Bachelor of Health Science Honours in Health Information and Communication Technology degree programme was introduced by the GWUIM, which aims to meet society’s demands for ICT solutions and prepare a generation of highly skilled software engineers /ICT specialists in the field. The developments in this area create opportunities for students to utilise the knowledge gained in the programme for local or international careers or continue their higher studies. The overall aim of the course is to equip future ICT Professionals with a unique mix of technical and managerial competency, with skills applicable to the ICT sector and its diverse areas of business and healthcare services.

This course is designed to manage the diversity of challenges involved in the integration of ICT into Business world and healthcare industry. The course includes all core technologies, such as Programming ,Networking, Databases Management Systems, and Computer Systems, in a business and professional context.



The programme gives undergraduates a combination of knowledge of Electronics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Communication Technology. In addition, the programme integrates technology with healthcare services and Leadership providing the students with a broad perspective on technological development. The programme has a large proportion of elective courses that allow them to tailor their education to industry need. It also includes a 6-month internship in their 4th year of the degree programme to prepare the graduates to provide leadership as our society moves toward more technologically advanced and efficient healthcare systems.

The Bachelor of Health Science Honours in Health Information and Communication Technology degree programme, is an English-medium degree programme and the content is delivered as combination of lectures, laboratory work, and practicals. Thus, undergraduates will benefit from different mode of interim industrial exposures during their study period. The programme is designed to foster an active research culture and maintain colloborations with the industry. Moreover, the academic staff members are prominent academics who have international research and academic experience.
