Bachelor of Health Science Honours in Indigenous Pharmaceutical Technology  graduate of Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine will have comprehensive knowledge on concepts, theories and ethics underlining the principles, practices and techniques of indigenous pharmacology and be able to   select, prepare raw materials and produce indigenous pharmaceuticals using        appropriate technologies adhering to relevant ethical practices as well as promote the use of indigenous and natural pharmaceuticals in public health management and will be an effective communicator and also responsible team player equipped with IT competencies and entrepreneurial capabilities in the fields of pharmaceutical  development, manufacturing and marketing with such knowledge, competencies and attitudes, Bachelor of Health Science Honours in Indigenous Pharmaceutical Technology graduate of GWUIM will have the capacity to undertake the role of pharmaceutical manufacturer, pharmacist (with management and marketing skills) and pharmaceutical developer.

• Utilize basic concepts, theories, and ethics of indigenous and other systems of alternative medicines to enhance the health care system in Sri Lanka.
• Propagate importance of indigenous and natural pharmaceuticals in public health management.
• Utilize knowledge of indigenous pharmacology, pharmacognosy, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics in pharmaceuticals development.
• Use appropriate methods and technologies in selecting and preparing standard raw materials for indigenous pharmaceuticals.
• Apply appropriate technologies in preparation of Indigenous pharmaceuticals.
• Develop an entrepreneur as a pharmaceutical manufacturer, pharmacist (with management and marketing skills) and pharmaceutical developer.
• Develop the carrier with advanced soft skills, effective communication, and team working ability with information technology competency.
• Practice medical and technological ethics in manufacturing and marketing of indigenous pharmaceuticals, service delivering and researchers.
