The Department of Indigenous Medicinal Resources offers Bachelor of Science Honours in Indigenous Medicinal Resources that is a specialized four-year full-time degree program.

Introduction
This is a four-year honours degree in Indigenous Medicinal Resources offered by the Department of Indigenous Medical Resources, Faculty of Indigenous Health Sciences and Technology, Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine. The students qualified with a noted Z-score in the Biological Science and Agricultural Science streams of the G.C.E A/L examination will be eligible to apply for this program. Most of the countries including Sri Lanka have thousands of years of indigenous knowledge and inheritable technology, especially for the traditional agricultural practices. The knowledge and technology were concentrated on western notions after the social transformation led by the Renaissance and Westernization during the 15th century. This Bachelor of Science Honours in Indigenous Medicinal Resources Degree Program - BSc (Hons) in IMR is presented to fill the gap between Western and indigenous knowledge for the development of indigenous medicinal resources.
