Field Study to Malitha Osu Uyana, Haldummulla by the Department of Dravyaguna Vignana, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine The Department of Dravyaguna Vignana, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, organized a field study to Malitha Osu Uyana, Haldummulla, for Year 3 undergraduates (academic year 2021/2022) on the 21st and 22nd of November 2024. This two-day program included both lectures and practical field sessions. Resource persons from the National Research and Medicinal Plants Garden of the Department of Ayurveda conducted the lectures and practical sessions.
This field study is part of the BAMS Year 3 syllabus and aims to fulfill objectives such as identifying medicinal plants based on their morphological characteristics, understanding their properties and pharmacological effects, and discussing the significance of medicinal plant-based products. Additionally, the field study provided insight into the process of maintaining a plant nursery.
