The Faculty of Indigenous Medicine proudly hosted the Inauguration of the BAMS Orientation Programme 2022/2023 on the 15th of August, 2024. The event was a momentous occasion graced by distinguished members of the university community, faculty, and students.

Event Highlights:
The ceremony commenced with a solemn commemoration of Pandit G.P. Wickramarachchi, the founding figure of this esteemed institute, marked by heartfelt floral tributes.
Dr. W.J. Wickramarachchi, Dean of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, extended a warm welcome to the newly enrolled students. In her speech, she emphasized the significance of Ayurveda in maintaining holistic health and well-being and encouraged students to uphold the ancient traditions and values of Ayurveda throughout their academic journey.
Expressing his wishes, the chief guest mentioned that the students should extend their skills beyond the world through Ayurveda. In addition, Professor Ranjana Wickrama Senevirathna, Vice Chancellor, addressed the gathering, highlighting the university's unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting indigenous medical practices. Further, Mr. B.A.N. Krishantha , Registrar of the University, spoke about the administrative aspects of the academic journey and the support available to students throughout their course.

The orientation programme was meticulously coordinated by Dr. N.S. Abegunasekara, Lecturer (Probationary), Department of Ayurveda Basic Principles, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine.
