Training, Designing, Developing, and Drafting Course Materials for Blended Education
The department of indigenous health sciences, faculty of indigenous health Sciences and Technology, Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine has taken another remarkable step forward on 17th December 2022, by holding a workshop for “Training, Designing, Developing, and Drafting Course Materials for Blended Education”.
The workshop was funded by AHEAD/ELTAELSE project. The workshop’s objectives were to develop the learning contents for the course units, Spa Management subject of the BSc (Hons) in Health Tourism and Hospitality Management degree program and design the teaching and learning activities of BSc. (Hons) in Yoga and Parapsychology degree program. These two objectives were achieved in two sessions as morning and evening sessions respectively.
In the morning, the session was carried out by resource person, Professor Iraj Rathnayake from the Department of Tourism Management, Faculty of Management Studies, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka.
The evening session was carried out by resource person, Dr. Sam Kankanamge, Founder of Sen Wellness Clinic London and Sen Wellness Sanctuary Yoga Retreat in Sri Lanka.
Dr. Bhagya Nallaperuma, Dean, Faculty of Indigenous Health Sciences and Technology, welcomed everyone to the workshop and Her Excellency Senior Professor Janitha A. Liyanage, Founding Vice Chancellor of GWUIM and the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, addressed the gathering by showing the importance of holding the workshop. Mr. Charundya Balasooriya, Head of the Department of Indigenous Health Sciences, Faculty of Indigenous Health Sciences and Technology, GWUIM addressed the gathering by introducing the objective of the workshop.
Successive holding of this workshop is a remarkable step taken forward in enhancing the degree programs offered by the Department of Indigenous Health Sciences, Faculty of Indigenous Health Sciences and Technology, GUIWM while catering to the development of Sri Lankan Higher Education.
