The Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management Studies was established on the 01st March 2021, in tandem with the establishment of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine as one of its four faculties. The faculty currently offers the Bachelor of Science Honours in Social Studies in Indigenous Knowledge degree programme, and soon the Bachelor of Science Honours in Service Management will be offered, aimed at producing professionals who are competent in working responsibly and independently in their respective fields of interest. 

The Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management Studies is not only unique in its focus, purpose and vision but also in its culture and environment.

The Faculty envisions the production not only of a knowledgeable graduate but a responsible, disciplined and accountable citizen with self and social awareness and leadership skills. As such, it focuses on:

• Continuing to be completely rag-free, embracing diversity and difference (no ragging has been reported so far, and there is peaceful co-existence between students representing all ethnic and religious groups in Sri Lanka)
• The preservation and promotion of indigenous values such as respect for others, compassion, kindness and integrity
• Shaping critical and creative thinking in youth
• Producing responsible and disciplined, environmentally conscious individuals
