Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management Studies is located at the main premises of the University at Yakkala. The Dean’s Office being the main facilitator of the faculty maintains the coordination between its two academic departments.
General administration functions of the faculty are usually carried out by the Dean’s Office. Under the supervision of the Dean and the Assistant Registrar, the Deans Office comprises a supporting crew of clerical and allied staff and minor grade employees.
The main functions of the Dean's Office are to facilitate the smooth functioning of academic activities of the Faculty and to provide assistance in students’ welfare related matters. Few major duties carried out by the Dean’s Office include the admission of novel students to the faculty including the conduct of inaugural and orientation programmes, renewal of student registrations at each level of the degree programme, facilitating of academic programmes with preparation of semester timetables and academic calendars, the assistance to academic departments to function within the frame of scheduled academic calendar, calculation of students’ monthly attendance with the assistance of each academic department for the purpose of Mahapola and bursary payments, conduct of semester examinations including scrutinization and re-scrutinization boards, facilitation of student union elections and dealing with the faculty's student union and other student societies, prudent attentiveness to individual student grievances, keep custody of students’ personal files, facilitating of monthly faculty board meetings and other faculty board sub-committee meetings, etc.
Office Hours – 8.30am to 4.15 pm on all working days.
