  1. Please tell us a bit about yourself.

I am Sulaim, currently a third-year undergraduate in this degree programme.

  2. What motivated you to apply for your course at GWUIM?

This course was newly introduced and I was interested in learning the uniqueness of Indigenous Knowledge alongside Social Sciences.

  3. What do you think of your course?

I believe it’s a unique and invaluable programme. It not only enhances our understanding of theoretical concepts but also builds practical skills through community projects, field visits, integrated learning portfolios and various extracurricular activities. It shapes character and instills a strong sense of responsibility to serve.

  4. How would you describe the guidance you've received?

The academic and non-academic staff are very accessible and supportive. Lecturers act like mentors, they genuinely care about students and always encourage us to do better. Personally, I’ve received valuable advice and guidance from the Dean to the Head of Department. Everyone is friendly and helpful.

  5. How would you describe your experience at FISSMS?

With the roles I’ve taken on and the experiences I’ve gained, I consider myself fortunate to be part of this environment. As a growing university, we do face some challenges regarding resources and facilities. However, overcoming these challenges together has contributed greatly to my personal development, it’s all part of the journey.

  6. Have you been involved in extra-curricular activities? If so, what have you gained out of these experiences?

Yes, I have been a part o the Students’ Union of the faculty, the Leo Club, and the Eco Nexus Green Club. Through these, I’ve been involved in organizing and executing various projects, gaining a wide range of experiences. From planning to completion, I’ve learned how to manage tasks, the importance of communication, the value of teamwork, and how these elements contribute to personal and collective growth.
