The Vice Chancellor and the Research Council of GWUIM have established a Research Award System to recognize and appreciate the contribution of academics who have conducted and published/ presented their research at national and international conferences, peer reviewed and indexed journals.

Types of Research Awards;

2. Vice Chancellor’s Awards

This award system is conducted through the following categories. Those eligible candidates will be awarded certificates.

1.1 A full paper published in Refereed Indexed Journal which the publication published in a journal indexed in an indexing service listed below: Recognized indexed journals are listed at https://clarivate.com/webofsciencegroup/solutions/web-of-science/ under:

a) Science Citation Index (SCI)

b) Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE)

c) Social Science Citation Index (SSCI)

d) Arts and Humanities Citation Index (AHCI)

1.2 Scopus - Elsevier

Emerald Insight – Emerald Publishing

2. A full paper published in Refereed Journal

3. An abstract published in local/ International conference proceedings/ Symposia

4. A full paper published in local/ International conference proceedings

5. A full paper published in a journal indexed in an indexing service other than listed in category 1 above

6. Researchers having the highest citations for the year

• To be considered to the category 6 awards, the researcher should have an h-index of 5 or more

Application Procedure

The Research Council of the university announces the deadline for the application for University Research Awards for the year. Following are the eligibility criteria:

a) Be a permanent academic staff member of the university

b) The applicant should process an updated Google scholar profile with a verified GWUIM email address

c) If the corresponding author of the publication is a GWUIM academic/ administrative staff member, the publication should contain a GWUIM email address and the GWUIM as the researcher's university affiliation
